This week we are doing things a bit different for our featured produce item by going outside the market for the main ingredient: Chocolate. The good thing about chocolate is that we have a lot of fruits and vegetables at the market that taste wonderful with it.
Of course the great thing about chocolate is that it’s delicious and it has great health benefits. Not only can dark chocolate help reduce the risk of heart disease by 1/3 but with its antioxidants it can also help reduce the risk of diabetes. (source)
So while you may not be able to get chocolate at the market (yet!) here are some great foods you CAN get at the market to enjoy with your chocolate:
- coffee
- ricotta cheese
- mint
- pears
- raspberries
- brioche
- chile peppers
- lavender
- strawberries
