Radishes are most likely not your favorite vegetable. They are an easy salad addition but usually they’re found at the bottom of the bowl after a meal. However, there are a lot of reasons you should start adding them to your diet. In fact, you can find 9 reasons here but here are my favorite:

  • Aids Digestion
    • natural cleanser by breaking down stagnant food and toxins in your body
  • Relieves Indigestion 
    • relieves bloating and has a calming effect 
  • Keeps You Hydrated
    • high water content as well as Vitamin C, phosphorous and zinc

 

Originating in Asia they have spread all over the world and in Oaxaca Mexico they even have a Night of the Radishes (Noche de Rabanos) on December 23. Click here and you won’t be sorry! Hopefully you will give radishes another try after you read this, or maybe you already love them. 

If you’re looking for a really simple way to enjoy them try this: radishes + bread + butter + salt. It’s sure not to disappoint.
