After serving as the Assistant Market Manager from 2019-2022, Darrius moved in to the role of Market Manager in January of 2023. He has a vast amount of experience supporting and promoting the vendors of the Market, creating special events, and handling the advertising for the Market. He is excited to continue his role in helping the Lynchburg Community Market continue to grow and remain a staple of Downtown Lynchburg.
As a Lynchburg native, Darrius grew up coming to the Lynchburg Community Market regularly. He has fond memories of the patio view of the fountain outside, tasting fresh fruits and vegetables, and spending time with family and friends here. Lynchburg has always been his favorite place to call home, and working in a position where he can contribute to the success of his local community has always been a passion of his.
While attending Lynchburg College ,Darrius served as an intern with the Lynchburg Education foundation as well as the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra before graduating with a degree in Marketing. He held positions in Alumni Relations, Food Service Management, and Route Sales before joining the Market team in July 2019.
In his free time, Darrius enjoys cooking, traveling and playing the trombone in various orchestral ensembles.
