2018 Harvest Festival

October 27, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Join local chefs, farmers, artisans, friends, and family in waving goodbye to summer at our Harvest Festival. From 9am – 1pm we have kid’s activities: pumpkin painting, face painting, and balloon creations. From 10am – 12pm we have our Locavore Cook-Off! Local chefs will be preparing samples for you to try and vote on. $5 gets you a tasting band and five voting tickets! We’ll also have our incredible farmers for our regular Saturday Market and, as always, our wonderful Artists & Crafters Gallery inside. We’ll see you soon!!

Locavore Chefs:

Chef Ivy Frank

After graduating, Ivy placed herself in the position to learn all she could and has worked over 18 years in the culinary field managing, cooking, and baking. She is currently the Store Chef and Kitchen Manager for Kroger and is planning her first cookbook!

Chef Rob Williams

After travelling the world with the Navy, Chef Rob settles in Richmond, Va to attend culinary school. While there, he worked at several high-end restaurants and country clubs. The stew is prepared weekly in their store located in the heart of Brunswick county. Cheryl’s husband, “Unkol” Chuck is a 4th generation stewmaster and they deliver to farmers markets throughout Virginia. Be sure to visit Alberta General Store‘s space at the Market every Saturday.

Chef Dave Ellis

Born and raised in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and trained as a chef in Charleston, South Carolina, Ellis spent years at finer restaurants up and down the East Coast. In 2006, Dave and his wife, Melanie opened Dish, a small plates restaurant in the 11th street block of Main, just a stone’s throw from the Market. He will be opening Rendez-Vous with business partner, Jack Edma, on the corner of 11th and Main very soon.
