Returning to the Locavore Demo Kitchen, Ivy Taylor Frank has been doing cooking demonstrations at the market for three years and loves making dishes with a Southern comfort emphasis using local ingredients. Ivy is a graduate of Liberty University and has been working in the culinary field for over 16 years. She is currently the store chef and kitchen manager at Kroger in Forest, VA. She enjoys catering with her chef friends, baking and designing menus for special events and family gatherings whenever she can.

Fresh strawberries are great but “too much of a good thing” is a very real concept. To help you out, some great ways to prolong the life of your wealth of these yummy red berries include:

  • Strawberry Preserves (or you can just buy it at the Market)
  • Strawberry Coulis, a decadent sauce to drizzle over pancakes, desserts, and more!
  • Strawberry Vinaigrette for a sweet way to jazz up a salad.

Ivy loves combining tastes of sweet and savory when she visits the Market. Check her out at the Demo kitchen monthly for other great recipes!

Missed the cooking demonstration with Ivy Taylor of Forest Kroger?! Well at least you can still get the recipes:
