Fifth and Federal Station offers a wide variety of sophisticated Southern fare the whole family can enjoy. For instance, catfish may be the most Southern fish you can get, but when Frankie Nettles cured it in citrus juice, it suddenly gets a Latin American flair and becomes Catfish Ceviche! Served atop cucumber, this finger-food is a fresh idea for a dinner party.

Some KEY POINTS about Cucumbers from Eat Smart, Move More include:

  • Cucumbers are a good source of vitamin K.
  • When buying cucumbers, look for firm, well-shaped, dark green cucumbers that are heavy for their size.
  • Refrigerate cucumbers in a perforated plastic bag for up to one week.
  • Leave the skin on for more nutrients! Just remember to wash it under running tap water while rubbing with your hands or scrubbing with a brush before you eat it.

Missed the cooking demonstration with Frankie Nettles of Fifth and Federal Station?! Well at least you can still get the recipes:
